Halloween

So I REALLY love Halloween. Basically just all the crafty stuff and the DRESSING UP! WOO! hehe...

My Monday night next week (little early, I know) will be spent dressed up at the movies watching Dracula on the big screen! Exciting!

So my question to Australian teachers is...

Do you celebrate Halloween in your classroom?

Make up

So I spent my Saturday night, while Mick was at work, teaching myself how to put on fake eyelashes. I have had an attack of the girlys. Eep! lol.

Sorry, I look a little tired in the pics, it was about 1am lol.

I am a total cheat, and I found these stick on eyeliner wings at Priceline for $10. Thought I'd try them out.

Liking these stick on eyeliner things. Easy to use and would look good with eyeshadow lol

I tried with some 'natural' looking eyelashes. They don't look at all natural on me lol. So I tried some 'crazy' eyelashes. They look better, because they aren't supposed to look natural, I suppose.

These are long ones with purple and green eyelashes and diamantes on the eyeliner part.
First decent attempt at false eyelashes

Second attempt, after doing some liquid eyeliner and eye shadow. Looks pretty cool, methinks.

Only problem is, now I don't have anywhere to wear them to! lol. Must organise a night out or a party soon! lol.

Also, picture is pretty bad cuz it was dark at 1AM and I had to use my phone camera.

Final pic - Mick and I are studying in the computer labs today. He turns to me... "Which tea?"

I think he is an addict.

OhMyGoodness...

Not even enough time to talk. Been rejecting my rarely read blog, so I guess I'm really apologising to nobody. lol.

Been TRYING (so hard) to do assessment and started volunteering at my prac school on Monday, but more about that later.

I have some photos. Enjoy!

To celebrate Doctor Who coming back, Fish fingers and custard! And yes...I have started forming my season theories
Went to visit the Misters parents and on the way home, stopped to take a pic of this deer in Bredbo

Mister and I went and saw The Bedroom Philosopher. I got a little fangirl-ish before this pic haha

Had a welcome pizza night for the Skeptics Society and it was fantastic!

Date A Girl Who Teaches...

Date a girl who teaches children. Date a girl who enjoys more in a bookstore for school supplies and children's books rather than in make-up store. She has problems with storage space because she has too many trinkets and storybooks to keep. Date a girl who has a list of stories that she wants to have and read, who has a collection of Aklat Adarna, Leo Lionni and Eric Carle's books.

Find a girl who teaches. You'll know that she does because she always carries supersized bags. She's the one who has everything in her tote. From art-project glitter materials to wet wipes. She has to carry her laptop almost everyday and all those papers and booklets that only she can understand. She might forget to bring her lipstick, but she won't forget to carry her water bottle and pencil case with colourful pens in it.

It is easy enough to date a girl who teaches. She won't want expensive gifts; you can buy storybook for her birthday, flowers for Teacher's day, craft punchers for Christmas. You can buy her anything but please spare her with coffee mugs; she has lots from her students.

A girl who teaches won't require much of your time. She will hardly see you on weeknights because she prefers to finish her lesson plans and worksheets and catch up sleep. Unless she had a really bad and long day, she will randomly ask you to have dinner or coffee with her. But if you insist, she will try her best and make it to the last full show of Inception even on a freakin' Wednesday night just to be with you. (Please cooperate and pretend with her that she enjoyed the movie by not asking details of the show anymore.)

Date a girl who teaches. She's heaps of fun, up for anything, and generally the life of the party after her long workweek. You won't remember that she works with small children until she starts sharing insignificant stories about children that you will never meet.

Don't be scared if you accidentally fart in front of a girl who teaches. She has high tolerance on the yuckiest things on earth, be it snot, poop, pee or vomit. She won't bother.

Experience dating a girl who teaches young children and you'll be surprised of the life lessons you'll learn from her. She will definitely touch your life.

Date a girl who teaches because you deserve it. She's sweet, she's witty, she's creative (in ALL areas), and she's thoughtful (you will never fail to receive a personalized greeting card in glitter for every occasion).

And if you're looking for an excellent mother for your offspring, she's the one. A girl who teaches knows exactly how to raise children and keep them from becoming bratty. She knows the perfect name to give to your child, and what name to avoid because its lenghty or trendy.

If you find a girl who teaches, keep her close. Her love is unconditional and she's the most patient creature on earth. She's a well-rounded lover and a guaranteed best friend for life.

Find a girl who teaches young children. Date her. Marry her. Make her happy.

Because no one ever is more passionate, than a girl who teaches.

Pinterest

So I have been pretty Pinterest obsessed for a while. I have close to 1000 pins after a few months. These are mostly, but not exclusively, Teaching related pins. Yeah, I use it for other uses (Funny pictures, Hair and make-up ideas, planning a future wedding that may never happen lol) but OH MY GOD the teaching resources! It started with looking at pretty things and progressed from there.

Over the last week or so, it has become a bit of a hot topic amongst my friends and my graduating class – with me trying ever so desperately to get other on Pinterest, if only so that I can follow them and pin from their boards!
A few weeks ago, #ntchat on Twitter dedicated the topic of the week to Pinterest. Everyone had amazing collaboration ideas and new ways to use Pinterest! I would never have thought to use it with a class, and am still confused as to how I would do it, but now that I know it’s working for others, I will eventually and inevitably have a go at using it with a class.
The archive for that #ntchat is here at #ntchat archives

So, I guess I should show you my boards. Don’t judge me, it’s an addiction. Lol

I will write another post in the next few days telling you all the amazing people I think you should follow on Pinterest, so keep an eye out and get your fingers ready to start clicking ‘pin’!

Oh and if you feel so inclined, FOLLOW ME!!!

I fail...

Ok Ok, so I have officially completely and utterly failed at blogging every day.

Had SO much going on lately, barely been on the computer at all (plus a massive hit of the flu)! Where shall I start?

Mick won tickets to see Ladyhawke. So we did that and that was brilliant (Pictures will come later lol)

I finished my Research Proposal for Science, which means I finished Winter Term at uni and have

I know, I know...

So I haven't posted in a while. Oops! But I have a massive assignment due, and I start prac next week so I won't be posting too much the next few weeks.

My post today isn't even 'Thirty Days' based... mainly cuz the last thing I bought is usually not very exciting.

Today, my post is NAIL ART! :D

I used to do my nails ALL the damn time. Like... twice a week (at least) but once again, I got incredibly busy and haven't had much time to do stuff. Also, I realised that although I used to do heaps on manis, I always forgot to take photos!

So here are some I do have!... (Sorry they're not very clear)

Also, I got most of my ideas from The Daily Nail

Christmas nails! White base with red and silver glitter stripes
